Gran Hotel Calderon is located only a few meters from Plaza Catalunya, in the heart of Eixample district, and at the same time situated on one of Barcelona’s historical buildings.
Gran Hotel Calderon takes its name from the Theater Calderón that opened its doors to the public back at 1945 and was about to be the city's largest theater hosting up to 1.5000 seats. The theater was closed in 1967, when a bank bought the building. Later on, another theater was hosted there until it got converted to a hotel and renovated in 2016 to shape the newest 5 star hotel of Barcelona. The architecture of the building has been work of Josep Rodríguez Lloveràs.
